Every Step I Take
\\\\\\\\\\
Every Step I Take is a short documentary film in which Benjamin Zeehandelaar - while preparing for a trail run in The Netherlands - tells us about the reason why physical exercise is vital. Benjamin shares the challenges, teachings and above all his discoveries about the inspiration, hardship and lessons that comes with every step.

"Reconnecting with my physical body through trail running on a later age changed me and allowed me to go through life with better balance and a clearer sense of purpose."

About the realization of the documentary
The documentary "Every Step I Take (Cada Paso Que Doy)" is a creative endeavor of Maarten Zeehandelaar. He proposed to capture the training sessions and preparations to a trail run of his brother Benjamin who was visiting his country of origin.
Benjamin had moved to Argentina in 2006, where he practices trail running. From conversations about it, the idea was born to document his process.  Together with the fact that Benjamin is an organizational trainer and coach it made sense to include that background in the form of a voice over as the sport is intertwinned and is a great influence also of how he perceives the balance between life and work.
And so in June 2022 we planned a couple of shooting sessions and narration recordings  in (the surroundings of) the city Zutphen, The Netherlands, where Maarten lives.
At the time Benjamin and his wife Leila were expecting their first child.
This documentary is dedicated to Maarten's nephew Noah, born in Buenos Aires on the day that would have been the 100th birthday of great-grandfather Benjamin who passed away earlier the same year. Born also in the year Lionel Messi won the soccer World Cup with Argentina. Noah is a happy healthy baby 'growing like cabbage' as they say in Dutch...

"I share lessons that every step I take bring me. Teachings of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Sharing with others what I have learned and still learn is what gives me the most meaning in life."
